another blog about sex

If I may, I'll share a bit of my journey. Most of my life I have been surrounded by feminine energy and I love being around strong women who also embrace their feminine energy. When I became actively involved in conscious spirituality, I went to many classes and conferences where I was one of very few men attending. And, as you know, as the sexual energy of the planet moves toward balance, the feminine energy is quite strong right now and has been for a bit, in order to help that balancing.

However, I found myself surrounded by too much feminine energy and was out of balance in my masculine power. Plus, the post-feminist energy of the 60's and 70's, which had much anger attached to it (and understandably so), had made many non-abusive men hide from their own male sexual energy.

In any case, a first step for me in the healing and rebalancing of my masculine energy, was coming into contact with the teachings of David Deida. Like all teachers, some of his teachings have been distorted by other male teachers back into the same old power struggles. But I find his pure teaching to be quite helpful. And I have found many women respond to his ideas as well.

There is another off-shoot of his ideas, called Warrior Sage, based out of Canada. There are also some books by Mantak Chia about the tantric energy which I have found helpful.

Now that the goddess energy is allowing women to express the full and complete range of their sexual energy -- the light and the shadow -- beyond politics and culture and his-story, many sexually adventurous women are finding themselves confronted by the same male-created distortions around sexual energy that non-abusive men have found themselves harmed by.

It is limitations and baggage around sexual language and imagery and practice that need to be re-examined in the light of divine sexual energy. And balanced divine sexual energy -- for me -- is not just dreamy, flowing, sensual, dancing-in-the-woods-barefoot sort of sexuality, but also up-against-the-wall explorations of personal power. It includes poetry and grace and beauty and also erotica and pornography (a very unfortunate word) and fetishism, etc. As long as no one is harmed and free will is informed. Which has not been the case for the most part. We can change that now.

All of which is to say these energies must be released of the energy of anger and victimizing and fear and ego-based power. So they become the pure colors on an extraordinary palette of passion. There is nothing 'dirty' about the sexual choices between two -- freely consenting and informed -- spiritual adults.

We are of heaven, but we are also of the earth. Once we free ourselves of these fears and limits and abuse the energy will naturally return to balance and we can once again 'be at play in the fields of the Lord.'

The Great Reboot

The following is absolutely impossible and will never happen.

Arianna Huffington recently wrote that while attending the Davos conference, all the top financial world leaders were wringing their hands, admitting that they had gotten us into this economic mess (though the U.S started it) and that they had no idea how to get us out. And many were actually turning to matters of spirituality to try and find answers.

We know how interconnected we've become. Yes, the U.S. owes enormous debt to countries like China and Brazil, but they can't really ask to be repaid because we supply a lot of their food. Plus we've got all those messy nuclear weapons laying around.

No, like it or not, we are all in this mess together, and it is possible that trying what worked in the past won't work this time. An old system is broken and trying to fix it with the same old tools that helped break it in the first place may only make things worse.

So there's nothing to be done except sit back and watch the world tumble into economic collapse, global depression, chaos and anarchy.

But this system wasn't delivered to us by aliens from another planet, and we, as their slaves, have to make it run. We created this system.

And we can re-create it.

We are a generation that's quite comfortable with the idea of rebooting our computers when they have a nervous breakdown. We don't think less of the computer and we don't think we failed. We simply unplug and replug. And presto! No guilt, no shame, and we're back on the Internet.

The Mayans simply forgave all debts every thirty-seven years. They lasted successfully for two thousand years.

Many countries, including the U.S., have forgiven other country's debts. Just wiped the slate clean (with some requirements attached, of course).

Remember Y2K? We were going to have to reset our entire electronic and industrial culture?

Hell, twice a year we all simply decide to turn back time and then turn it forward!

So why can't we all decide -- globally -- to reboot the world economy? Erase debt for everyone. Admit we all screwed-up (though not everyone did), and just start over?

Pick one day in one year when everyone all at the same time around the world simply unplugs and replugs our planet.

Like I said, Impossible.

Two Paths

What do we do when everything around us appears to be coming apart at the seams?

We are quite clearly at a crossroads; two paths have opened up before us. One path leads to the past -- and not the past of a thousand years ago, or a hundred, or even ten. Or even days, weeks, months. But the past of the last moment when we were still tempted to look back over our shoulders at what had just been.

The other path is not that of the future, but of the moment. The Present Moment. The Holy Instant. The Now.

We are witnessing the unraveling of third dimensional, linear reality, which says that the next moment is born from the last moment, and that we are on an inevitable trajectory into the future, a future which will most certainly look very much like the past. Only shinier.

That is the familiar path. The path we have all walked for lifetimes. And many -- most -- in the world will continue on that path out of habit, history and fear.

The other path is the more difficult path to follow. Because you don't follow it. You can't. You can only stand at its threshold and be present. It is not a path that you walk down. It is a path that is accessed only by the simple act of breathing and turning inward.

The old path is to look for answers and safety outside of ourselves.

The new path is to listen to our own hearts and intuitions.

On the old path we were told what to do and we did so in groups of families and villages and cities and nations and even as humans.

The new path says that each individual is now the sole source of that individual's guidance and safety.

The old path said that in order to enter ' door D' we had to first go through doors 'A,' 'B,' and 'C' and in that sequence.

The new path suggests that in order to enter 'door D' as gracefully as possible, we may first have to go through 'door Q' and then 'door Z.' It also suggests we may not have to go through any door at all. The universe may simply begin to bend toward us.

Many of those who survived the World Trade Center nightmare -- for reasons they couldn't explain that day -- are the ones who decided to stay home that morning, or took a later bus, or questioned and dismissed the authority figures who told them to go back into the towers after they had first been hit. They listened to their inner voices, even when those voices didn't make sense.

We are witnessing the dismantling of all systems of belief -- even spiritual systems -- and the material world those belief systems created. Material belief systems that said we are separate from each other and our environment and the universe around us and therefore must be protected from each other, which in turn created nations and armies and laws and banks.

We are witnessing the dismantling of spiritual belief systems as well, which replicated the material belief systems convincing us that we had fallen from Grace and were evil and powerless and therefore in need of salvation and religion. Even many of the 'New Age' belief systems still require us to give our power over to a rigid practice, or a guru, or an ascended master.

We are not witnessing destruction, but birth. Re-birth and re-union. The walls and institutions and beliefs that have separated us are falling. Everything we thought we knew about life will come into question. As the vibration of the planet increases, even gravity may come into question.

We are moving from a time when we gave over our power to outside forces to feed and house and clothe us, and into a new era when our hearts and intuition and newly-born manifesting powers provide everything we need. Which is not to say there won't still be bills to pay and jobs to go to and stores to shop at. Only that we will discover more perfect and graceful methods to pay those bills and find those jobs and shop at those stores.

We are leaving the world of reason and entering the world of intuition. The world of reason has limited access to information. The world of intuition has an infinite source of knowledge to access. The world of reason is fear-based. The world of intuition is love-based.

A balance is being restored. Nature and the universe have always been in balance, we are the ones who disrupted that balance.

All we have to do now is get out of the way a bit as our world rebalances itself, try to stay present, try to stay out of fear, and when fear comes, go inward and breathe and listen to the inner voice.

And trust that voice to have our best interest at heart.

an excerpt from "Son"

You can change the past.

As the past and future exist at the same time and are directly effected by consciousness, and as we are all intimately connected by the energetic web of life, then the past can be changed by actions today.

Let me offer a metaphoric example: According to the Bible, perhaps I am whipped twenty times in Pilot’s palace 2,000-some years ago.

Perhaps you, today, are able to go deeply into your heart and forgive yourself, or someone who has wronged you greatly. That creates -- literally -- a wave of Love that resonates forward -- and backward -- through time, effecting everything it touches.

It even reaches me, in Pilot’s temple, and everyone there is effected -- changed -- by your act of Love and I am whipped nineteen times.

With the added Love sent from you, in the future, back to me, I am that much stronger and can send more Love forward in time to you. That Love in turn, reaches you and helps you to be yet more loving and forgiving and that, in turn, sends more Love back to me, where I am whipped eighteen times.

And on and on it goes, back and forth, beyond space and time, until one day you wake up, as if from a vivid dream, and are made aware of the story of an old prophet and teacher named Yeshua, who died as an old man in his sleep surrounded by wife and family.

And this will be the truth of it. For my mission will have succeeded, through you, in the future, and my death on the cross will not have been necessary. In the past.

Comforting possibilities. Yes?

"love after love"

The time will come when,
With elation,
You will greet yourself arriving
At your own door, in your own mirror,
And each will smile at the other’s welcome,
And say, sit here, Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
To itself, to the stranger who has loved you
All your life, whom you ignored
For another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,
The photographs, the desperate notes,
Peel your image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.

allowing

“Creating is not about making things happen through action. In fact, creating is not about making things happen at all. Creating is about allowing the thing that you desire to happen, and the allowing happens through Energy alignment, not through action.”
